BIO
The Ellery Daines Trio’s unique punk- and jazz-flavoured rock sound brings together influences like The Living End, Manchester Orchestra and Queens of the Stone Age, with nuanced yet hard-hitting results.
After writing and recording his first two EPs alone (Ellery’s Extended Play (2012) and Rants (2015)), Ellery enlisted bassist Nick Jones and drummer Sam Edmonds to form the Ellery Daines Trio in late 2015.
2016 saw the band go from playing their first ever live show in January through to winning the Best Drummer award at the Demon Energy Battle of the Bands national final in July, getting a lot of local radio airplay and recording a set of live 360-degree performance videos at Parachute Studios in Auckland.
In 2017 they built on this success and released their first official single, Spiders.
Ellery relocated to Norway in early 2018, but that hasn't stopped the band from releasing a further series of live videos and collaborating on new material.
The band are due to record this new material at Kysten Studio in Norway and produce their debut album in 2019.
